The Osprey Guest House

We left at 7:00 a.m. after one night, even though we’d booked for two. The leak kept dripping loudly all night and made sleep very difficult. We told the staff member on duty, who kindly brought a bucket with a towel in it, but that didn’t quiet it down. The room had seemed fair for the price at first, and the gentleman who welcomed us and showed us in was pleasant. Then we found a kettle that was blackened and seemed burnt out, a TV with a large crack that wouldn’t work, and a broken shower head holder, so we had to hold the shower while washing. We’d booked this last-minute family break in Blackpool after reading generally fair reviews, but the room’s condition and the problems made the stay uncomfortable.

We booked three nights but left at 5 a.m. The bathroom had mould, there was no toilet roll or towels, and the bed was the worst part. The linen hadn’t been changed, and there were crisp pieces in the bed and on the floor. We found bed bugs on our bodies and clothes. Now we’re home, the bugs are still sticking to our clothes and I’m getting bitten every day. This place is disgusting, and I hope it gets shut down. Anyone who gives it a good review either knows the owners or is r e t a r d e d. You should be ashamed.

I was coughing hard from the heavy mould, and there were bed bugs too. The sheets clearly hadn’t been washed. I didn’t sleep at all, and by 2AM I was so fed up that I left to get home as soon as possible. I’m beyond disappointed, my day’s ruined.

We paid for two rooms for two nights but left after just one. My wife and daughter were both bitten by fleas in the rooms. We were told pest control people would come four days later, yet guests were still being allowed to stay. The place is a total disgrace, no better than a squat.
