The lake was a big hit with my partner, who loved fishing there. Our lodge was very clean, with a big comfy bed, and the enclosed veranda made it great for dogs. The town is only a few minutes away by car, and Deliveroo even delivered to the lodge. We enjoyed our stay at Dragonfly Stays and will definitely come back.
It was very clean and tidy, and I'd gladly stay again. The power shower was amazing, even though the accommodation felt quite basic despite looking good. Cooking gear was the usual Air BnB sort of quality, so I had to improvise a bit. The mattress could be better, ideally closer to Premier Inn standard. Mobile signal was poor and the Wi-Fi was weak, but fine as long as you're not streaming. I was there to run and enjoy some quiet between work, and that suited me splendidly.
Everything was ready and clean when I arrived, and the lake right next door made the setting quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It was an unexpectedly great find when the other local hotels were full. The town and its amenities aren't too far away, but this is a lovely escape from town noise. I'd highly recommend it and can't wait to stay again.
A quiet, restful place in a very nice location. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed.
I took an impromptu little walk around the perimeter and really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful place and worth a visit, but check the opening times or book ahead.
