We came for a friend's birthday lunch on one of February's rare sunny days. There were quite a lot of us, but the service was quick from the start and they made sure we had everything. The food was brilliant. I had the burger, while the fish dishes looked amazing too. I'd definitely come again. Thanks!

We were staying at Golden Cap Holiday Park and had looked into the local pubs. We managed to book their last table for noon on Valentine's Day, and it turned into a really special meal. The pub is in a stunning spot, and the food was superb. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal that much. Our waitress had a fantastic personality and really added to the experience. Thank you, we'll be back.

After climbing Golden Cap Hill, stopping at The Anchor Inn for a drink felt just right. It's right by the water, with an incredible view, and I can imagine having quite a hangover if I visited in summer. Or maybe that was just the feeling of having conquered the hill. I thought I'd just have a pint, but the menu tempted me into an unplanned meal. I'm glad it did, the macaroni cheese was next-level. The service was attentive and friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere and food made this one of my best pub experiences on the coast. If you're walking the South West Coast Path, it's a stop to look forward to.

We went three times during our weekend in Chideock: for a drink and snack after the sauna, dinner the next night, then Sunday lunch after hiking Golden Cap. Each visit came with a warm welcome, and the atmosphere was just right inside and out. The food and ale were amazing every time. Beautiful setting, lovely staff, delicious food. We've found a new favourite pub and will definitely be back.

We spent five nights in the cottage and had a great stay. It was comfortable, well equipped and amazingly clean, right into all its little nooks and crannies. We ate at the pub a few times. Breakfasts were excellent, with really good ingredients, and the evening meals were tasty and well presented without being pretentious. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.
