Rooms at the Vault

We had breakfast at The Vault and got 10% off the menu. The full English and pancakes were both excellent, and Sam, the waitress, was friendly and checked on us throughout. The room worked really well for us and our two kids while we were spending the day in Buxton. They loved the second bedroom up its spiral staircase, and it gave them a little spot of their own while keeping them in sight. The room was spacious and very clean, with a modern bathroom. We’d read comments about pub noise from The Vault below, but had no trouble with it, perhaps Wednesday helped. Getting in was straightforward thanks to clear step-by-step instructions and PIN codes for the gate and door. It reminded me a bit of an Airbnb setup. We’d stay again. One small suggestion: a peephole or door chain would help. My partner felt uneasy when someone knocked while I was out and she couldn’t see who it was.

The service was excellent, and the kitchen did a great job catering for the pescatarian, nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free members of our party. We all enjoyed a delicious Sunday meal, with generous portions and tasty food. Thanks, we’re looking forward to coming back.

We booked ahead, ordered in advance and left a deposit for my kids’ second birthday meal. There were 14 of us, so even with a bit of a wait after pre-ordering, it was nice that all the food arrived together. The server was lovely and really tried. The food was very nice, with especially good Sunday lunch portions for the kids.

All home cooked, great portions, and I couldn’t fault it. We went for Sunday lunch and it was the best I’ve had. The atmosphere was really nice too, and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Excellent service, thanks.
