The Old Barn Bed & Breakfast

Heather was a perfect host at The Old Barn. Our room was clean, spacious and just right, and breakfast was lovely. We were going to a wedding at Ellingham Hall, and she gave us a taxi number. Nigel was on time to take us there and pick us up. Thanks again, Heather, for a lovely stay. We’ll definitely book again. Xx

Breakfast brought to our room was a real treat, and Heather was a wonderful host. The room had everything we needed. It was warm overnight because of the property’s age, just as Heather had warned us it might be. We were attending a family wedding at Doxford, and this worked ideally as a place to stay. It’s a lovely spot in the heart of Northumberland, with views towards the coast, Holy Island and Dunstanburgh.

It’s so peaceful here, a great place for walkers or anyone wanting a break from the rat race. Heather is a brilliant host and makes sure you feel happy and relaxed. The little cakes she leaves when you arrive and during your stay are a lovely touch, and there are books and DVDs to use. Best of all, the breakfasts are really tasty. It feels like a home from home.

It’s a very quiet spot, yet close to places of interest, and the views towards Bamburgh are fab. The room was spotless and well appointed, with a tastefully done red and black colour scheme. Heather had thought of everything, even putting a torch and first aid kit in the room. We had a warm welcome and a lovely hot breakfast. Thoroughly recommend. A note for anyone who isn’t a dog person: Heather has two dogs, but we wouldn’t have known if she hadn’t mentioned them. We never heard them, and there was no smell either.
