Angel Hotel

I hadn’t realized the suite came with a sitting room as well as a double en-suite, so that was a nice bonus. Both rooms felt airy and clean, and even though we were on the high street, there wasn’t much noise at night. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. A violinist playing on the high street in the morning made things feel especially cosy.

Being on the quiet back side of the hotel was nice, though it meant quite a walk from the entrance. Our en-suite was a good size, clean and equipped with the usual facilities. I did miss having a mirror at the dressing table. The high street location makes this a handy base for touring Guildford.

Staff are what make this place special. Shalini was outstanding, friendly and quick to go beyond what was needed to make sure we were comfortable. Symantec was very helpful and friendly too. The building itself is beautiful, quirky and right in the town centre, though its age comes with things like lots of stairs and low water pressure in some rooms. It’ll be our first choice when we stay in Guildford.

I was greeted straight away with a smile and an offer to carry my bags, and the room was enormous. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot in Guildford. An excellent hotel, suitable for any occasion.
