The Half Moon

I didn’t stay overnight, but booked a table with a mate for an evening meal and reunion. A few days beforehand I phoned to ask about my food intolerances, and was blown away to be presented with a bespoke menu of around 10 choices. I complimented Kim on the care and service, and she explained she’d attended courses to fully understand food intolerances. The service was excellent and the price very reasonable. I’ll book an overnight stay next time too. Thanks again, Kim, and well done!

We ate and drank at the pub without staying there. The atmosphere was great, and the friendly staff and locals made us feel welcome. We had lovely food and plenty to drink. We’d definitely visit again and recommend it to everyone.

We were staying in the village for two nights and went to the pub for food and drinks. We weren’t staying in the accommodation, sadly. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere was lovely, and there were lots of friendly locals. We shared a platter, which was lovely and generous. My husband also went to watch the Ruby in the afternoon, and we came back for a drink that evening. It’s a delightful little village pub. We’ll definitely return and try the accommodation. The roast potatoes were some of the best I’ve had, and there was plenty of fresh veg alongside the beef. Had a lovely Sunday lunch here, all brought out with a smile. We’re lucky to have such a welcoming village pub.
