Sushanta made a great first impression as soon as I arrived, with a warm smile, polite manner and professional approach. He got me checked in quickly and explained the facilities and local attractions clearly. Whenever I needed help, he was patient and ready to assist, whether with transport, directions or questions. His positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction stood out. He really goes above and beyond to help guests feel comfortable and valued.

The location was easy to reach, staff were excellent, and despite the busy car park we found a space. There’s a good gym next door where you can pay for a day pass, though it isn’t affiliated with the hotel. We stayed one night as a family of four with two dogs. The Travelodge was decent, but the booking information didn’t make clear that dogs aren’t allowed in the bar or dining area. We’d booked dinner, bed and breakfast, so this meant we had to eat in our room or split into two groups to avoid leaving the dogs alone there.

The rooms were good and felt fairly new, but they were very noisy, which let the hotel down. I was surprised they had a bar and restaurant. The evening meal was very nice, and so was the cooked breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise since hotel food hasn’t been very good lately. One more thing, the parking spaces under the building are extremely tight.

I stayed for two weeks in November 2025 after coming from abroad. My pre-booked room, 419, was a “Standard Room Plus” on the fourth floor, facing west and 30-40 metres from the railway. Check-in and checkout were quick and smooth. This review covers what I noticed during my stay, including some smaller details. I’ve included photos, and hope the review is useful. The bathroom was spotless, with excellent finishing and sealing. The silicone, or possibly polyurethane, was among the most professional-looking work I’ve seen. Water pressure stayed high and steady despite being on the top floor, and using the basin tap didn’t reduce the shower flow. Hot water came through in under five seconds. The shower tray was a little under one square metre, with a good curtain that was long enough to keep water in. I found no mould or fungus. The shower head was fixed, and I’d have preferred one with a flexible hose. Keep the bathroom door closed when there’s steam inside, or the smoke alarm just outside it may activate. There was a foaming handwash dispenser by the basin and liquid gel in the shower. I really liked the handwash scent and found it was Enliven Orange Blossom and Bergamot, though I couldn’t find it on the market despite searching extensively. Bathroom exhaust ventilation runs all the time. There’s no wall fan, as it seems to be part of a central network with larger fans in central locations. Travelodge is a four-storey building. The ground floor is just for entering and exiting, with reception and the cafeteria or mini-restaurant on the first floor. There are 124 rooms on the second, third and fourth floors. Two elevators and a wide, comfortable spiral staircase serve the floors, the staircase partly enclosed by a glass facade. Shared spaces and corridors were clean and well maintained. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, but glanced at the breakfast buffet, which looked quite basic. Rooms are usually cleaned once a week, with extra cleaning available on request any day. You can hang a “don’t disturb” sign or a “top me up” sign outside your door. With the latter, they change your towels and restock the tea and coffee station. I noticed two housekeeping stations in use on my floor during cleaning hours.

There was banging all night, loud and constant. I can’t say what it was, though it sounded like major furniture removals, and I don’t believe it was a customer. The room itself was underwhelming and had an odd smell. The hotel felt shabby, and it wasn’t particularly clean, which made being there uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It was a very unsatisfactory night.
