The Pavilion Bisley

The room was quiet, small and cosy, and I couldn’t hear the gun range at all with the windows shut. I hadn’t realised before booking that it was right in the middle of a gun range. I was only there for one night, so didn’t get much chance to look around, but there’s a cafe and campsite nearby.

Stay away. Someone seems to be trying to charge a debit card again for a breakfast ticket from over a year ago, and now there’s a charge of 100+ for who knows what. I had to block the card. The card wasn’t used for the reservation, so putting it into their online system and charging it at random feels like a data breach.

The ensuite shower room was spotless, and the bed was cosy. My room at The Pavilion, on the National Shooting Centre grounds in Bisley, was clean and comfortable, with a useful tea and coffee station. I stayed for one night and would happily return.

The staff made our 11-night stay at the Pavillion feel special from the start. Lindsay at reception went out of her way to make sure everything was right, and Velma kindly showed my daughter, aunt and me the lovely new indoor air rifle & pistol range. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and it was clear they cared about their guests. We came for a competition, but I’d recommend the place for a family trip, a getaway with friends, or a quiet break. The location felt central, peaceful and safe, just minutes from the train station and a 45-minute ride into London. The hotel is stunning, and the cafe inside serves breakfast and lunch. My daughter and I had a spotless, comfortable twin room. The rooms are upstairs and there’s no elevator, though staff offered to carry our luggage. There’s no a/c, but our room had a fan and we could open the windows. We had such a good time that our family is already looking forward to coming back.
