The Swan Hotel

The stairs to the upstairs rooms were a little steep, but manageable. My room was clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast in the morning was delicious. It’s a perfect pub with rooms, and all our needs were taken care of. I’d definitely stay again, 10 out of 10 from me.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the place is on the main road, close to all the amenities. But the room wasn’t great. There were lots of stains on the carpet, chair and bedding, wallpaper peeling off the wall, and mould on the windows. Although the listing said food was served, they only offered breakfast, which was included in the room price.

The atmosphere was terrible. The clientele felt very cliquey, and some people smirked as we left. I came in with my dogs after a walk, hoping to get some food, but they don’t serve it anymore, so we settled for drinks. Then the bar manager greeted us in a hostile way and asked us to leave because it was quiz night. I’ll never go into this pub again.

Cosy and charming, with a romantic feel and friendly, welcoming staff. It’s on a busy main street in a lively, upscale village, with plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance.
