Graysonside

The countryside around Graysonside Guest House is gorgeous, with hills, fields and quiet country roads. We could see sheep grazing in a field from our room, a lovely surprise when we opened the blinds after arriving in the dark the night before. The house is close to Cockermouth, and Lidl is only a five-minute drive away. Our room was lovely, breakfast was luxurious and the hostess was charming. We’d happily go back.

Janette and Andrew gave us such a warm welcome and went out of their way to make the stay feel special. Janette’s breakfast, made with amazing local ingredients, is a must. The Woodland's Luxury apartment was spotless, beautifully furnished and had every amenity we could need. We’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Janette.

I keep coming back, and breakfast is one reason why. It’s fantastic, and I wouldn’t miss it. Jan & Andy are always so welcoming, and I’ve probably stayed in every room by now. The rooms are spacious, warm, comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated. There are B&B rooms as well as luxury self-catering cottages and houses. It’s a great base for the North Lakes, with a perfect morning view of the stunning Lorton Vale.

The peaceful setting was lovely, with birdsong in the morning and quiet nights. They made me feel so welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. My room had a double room and a single, plus a huge, bright, clean bathroom. Breakfast was second to none, with everything from yoghurt and fruit to a full English. It was all fresh and local, and they catered for gluten free too. Couldn’t have been better. I’d definitely recommend it.
