Garfield Guesthouse

The guesthouse was easy to find by the railway station, with lots of parking, and the host gave us a warm welcome. We picked it for its central position for the places we wanted to visit. Our room was comfortable and clean, with two chairs and a table as well as twin beds, so there was space to relax. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. The shower was one of the best we’ve had, with plenty of hot water and great pressure. Breakfast included cereals, fruit, yoghurt and croissants, plus a full Scottish breakfast with a vegetarian option. You could also order individual items if you didn’t want the full breakfast. Rooms are checked daily, with fresh towels every other day. The nightly price is very reasonable, and we’d definitely recommend staying here 😊

The train station is right in front of the accommodation, making it easy to travel in any direction. It’s a great base for exploring northern Scotland. The owners were very friendly, the rooms spacious and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with vegetarian options too.

We stayed last night and this place was a real gem. Gillian was lovely, and the room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower powerful, and we slept really well. Although the house is by a road, it was very quiet. Breakfast this morning was delicious, and there’s ample parking. Highly recommended, we’ll be back.

I’ve stayed several times, and it’s always excellent. Gillian is a superb host and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast is fantastic. It’s a pleasant, decent-sized town and a fabulous base for exploring the northern Highlands of Scotland.
