Lovely 5 Person Chalet in St Margaret's at Cliffe

We’ve stayed for two nights, which works perfectly for me and my daughter, and this is our third visit. The staff are welcoming and amazing, so we’ll be back. It’s a great family place, with a clean pool, a heated kids’ pool, and a really nice steam room and sauna. There’s a gym for £5 with unlimited use, plus a restaurant and bar if you’d rather stay on site. Rooms are modern, though the bathrooms could use an update. A mini fridge in the room would be a nice addition. There’s no air conditioning, but with the right room you can get sliding doors, which has worked well for us.

The jacuzzi being unavailable was disappointing since it was one of the main reasons I booked. The team handled the problem really well, though. They got back to me quickly, explained things clearly, and sorted it out without any hassle. Mistakes happen, and I appreciated how professionally they dealt with this. Thanks to the team.

There were plenty of empty caravans around, but when we asked to move, we were told the site was full. The one we were given was right beside the main road and restaurant. People in the restaurant could see into two bedrooms, the kitchen and lounge, while traffic could see into the main bedroom. Keeping the curtains shut was the only way to get privacy, but then it was dark inside. The caravan was filthy. The carpets, bedding and furnishings were dirty and looked uncared for, with lots needing replacement. The bathroom smelled of urine and clearly hadn't been cleaned with bleach. The steps were unsafe too, with patch repairs and other steps cracking.

The caravan was clean and the setting was beautiful, but it was a long walk to the seaside. There was hardly anything inside: no towels, soap, shampoo or washing-up sponge, and not even basic salt or sugar.
