Finding pubs and restaurants that could fit all twelve of us was the one tricky part. Otherwise, this house was just right for a family holiday: spacious, lovely rooms, clean and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen, good showers in most bedrooms and a family bathroom. The beds were great too. A lovely place for a break.

We had a really peaceful stay, with lovely quiet surroundings and panoramic views. The food was good quality and excellent value, and the bar had three real ales on tap. It’s dog friendly too, with a room where you can stay with your dog. The owners were genuinely welcoming, and the service was very friendly.

The Beef Madras was particularly good, and the staff were helpful when they were around. The hotel itself is nice, and the setting is lovely and peaceful, with wonderful views towards the Llyn Peninsula and beautiful sunsets when the sun appears. We stayed two nights in twin room 4. It was small but cosy and comfortable, with shower facilities, though there wasn't much privacy. The vanity screen helped a little, but washing with someone who isn't your wife or husband only three feet away was uncomfortable. We grumbled about it every time. The shower was barely more than a trickle. The shower head was badly in need of a proper clean and was absolutely full of mould. I wondered why there wasn't a photo of this room on the hotel's website, and then I understood. I'm sure the other rooms are more appealing, and our experience wouldn't put us off staying here again. Still, if you book, try to avoid room 4. If I owned the hotel, I'd use it as a store cupboard instead of selling it as a room.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and breakfast came freshly cooked and piping hot. We had a lovely three day break at the Ael Y Bryn. Our room was clean and spacious, with gorgeous views over the countryside and bay. No complaints.

Sian and Kevin were excellent hosts, and all the staff helped make our stay such a pleasure. The food was superb, too. We’ve just come back from a short break at this little gem of a hotel, and our beautiful room, number 2, had coastal views. We can’t praise it enough. Thank you to everyone. John and Margaret x
