Edinburgh Rays Guest House

We had a spacious basement room for our three nights with friends, plus comfy beds and good quality bedding. The ensuite was compact, though the shower was decent. Parking at the property was handy, and from there we walked or used Uber to get into the city centre. Earl Grange Cafe? nearby was a nice, reasonably priced breakfast spot. It's a pleasant street to walk into town along, with lovely restaurants and bars and access to the Meadows. A nice place to stay for a reasonable price.

The location was okay, and I could find better alternatives for that money. The cleaning was seriously lacking: dust rolls in every corner and the room smelled mouldy. I'd run away at first light. I don't recommend it.

There wasn't staff on site, but before we arrived they sent clear instructions and assured us someone would be there if needed. I briefly met staff at breakfast, and they seemed very nice. Breakfast was simple with plenty of options, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was very clean, and even the shared bathroom was spotless and close by, so it wasn't a bother. A lovely little guest house. It felt safe, clean and peaceful, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Basic room, but a great location. I messaged about a problem, and they came to help within 20 minutes and sorted it out really well. I'd stay again.
