I wasn’t happy with my first room, and Eren arranged a change straight away, with a warm and considerate manner. She made it clear that guest satisfaction mattered to her. She was polite, welcoming, and professional, and sorted out my issue with no fuss, making everything comfortable. Thank you, Eren, for the hospitality and for making my stay more enjoyable. 🌷

Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The location worked well too, about a 25-minute walk from central Edinburgh. Our room was very clean, but we liked it less because there was no window to open for fresh air. With carpet throughout, that’s a particular problem for anyone with dust mite allergies, as there’s no way to air the room. Staff said the air conditioning provided ventilation, which seemed a bit odd to us. There was no minibar or smart TV either.

It’s a basic hotel, but the staff are great, and local buses make the tourist sights easy to reach. They also looked after our luggage after checkout, which was helpful. The room windows don’t open, and the doors could do a better job of blocking sound. Breakfast gets crowded in the buffet area, which could be bigger. Bread quality varied, and the coffee could be better.

Sofias attached to the building is sublime, and the desk staff were very friendly. It’s about 8-9 minutes on foot from the train station, and roughly 25 minutes from the castle and main strip, with loads of pubs and restaurants nearby. The room was clean and secure, with straightforward AC and heater controls, steady WiFi for work or streaming, a nicely sized bathroom, a lovely shower, and plenty of outlets.
