JOIVY at VITA Fountainbridge - Adults only

The location worked really well for us, with the city centre an easy walk away. We also had a clean, pleasant room with a well-equipped kitchen. Downstairs, the public areas are nicely designed, with lots of seats and a large TV to relax by. We'd stay again.

The room was a real plus: spacious, clean, and with a fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle. Having a little kitchen was useful too, especially with Edinburgh restaurants being pricey. The lobby is really a big shared lounge, with sofas, a TV area, and Xbox consoles. Bring your own Xbox account and digital games if you want to use them. During our week there, housekeeping seemed to miss our room, and the towels were changed only once. Breakfast was disappointing, very basic and not much of a holiday treat. The coffee machine, though, is available around the clock and makes excellent coffee and hot chocolate. The location is great for exploring Edinburgh, but with those drawbacks, I thought the hotel was a bit overpriced for what it offers.

The price was very competitive, and it was easy to walk into town from here. My room was clean and spacious, with a nice balcony and a comfortable bed. Breakfast is modest, but does the job. The Google reviews I'd read didn't reflect my experience at all. Don't put much stock in the one-star reviews, this place is definitely worth a stay.

We loved the location and the staff were lovely. The communal area downstairs had loads of games and cards, so it was a nice place to hang out. Our room was big, and the bathroom was nice, but the oven didn't work. The bigger problem was how hot the room got. There’s no AC, and we could barely sleep.
