The staff made this a great stay: attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and informative, just what you'd hope for from hospitality professionals. As Accor loyalty members, we stay with the group regularly around the world, and this is the best ibis we've stayed in. The location is fantastic, and our room was quiet and clean. We heard the rooms are due to be updated soon, though they weren't shabby or in disrepair. Edinburgh is a vibrant city.

The room was comfortable and the staff were pleasant, knowledgeable, and ready to answer questions. We enjoyed the stay and could walk to major landmarks from the hotel's convenient location. The premium room had tea and coffee on its small table, leaving little space to use it for a snack or meal. There were no power outlets by the bed either. I had to join two extension leads to reach it, which didn't feel right for a premium room. The layout and outlet access could be better. Well done, IBIS team.

The hotel is conveniently placed for both the Royal Mile and Waverly Station. The city and hotel were packed because of the France-Scotland rugby game. We ran into a few problems, but the staff and manager were polite and helpful in sorting them out. My only gripe was breakfast: the eggs seemed like they might have been powdered.

Louise at the front desk was especially kind and helpful throughout my stay, and the rest of the staff were excellent too. My clean, comfortable room was a good place to recharge between exploring the city. The hotel is right in the centre, about a five-minute walk from the Royal Mile, with shops, restaurants, and bus stops close by. Breakfast has a fairly small menu, though that didn't spoil the experience. Even the water fountain near reception tasted surprisingly good 🤤. A wonderful, convenient Edinburgh stay.

This review is a roundup of UK hotel suggestions for 2026, drawing on Which?, Tripadvisor, and The Times. It says Which? secret inspectors gave several hotels 4.5 to 5 stars after unannounced stays: Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, The Marcliffe in Aberdeen, and The Grand in Brighton, No. 42 by Guesthouse in Margate, and Harbour Beach Club Hotel & Spa in Salcombe, Devon, with the stray code 7ca0790d. It claims top-rated stays start at £185 a night, followed by the fragment “7ca0.” For options under £200 a night, it lists The Marcliffe, At the Chapel in Somerset, The Gunton Arms in Norfolk, The Yard in Bath, and Eleven Didsbury Park in Manchester, with code 9a61. Its luxury picks are Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire, described as a Belmond hotel with praised dining and grounds; The Mitre Hampton Court in London; Middleton Lodge Spa in North Yorkshire; plus The Roseate Reading and Voco Cardiff, said to be under £160 a night, followed by 790dcc63. The London suggestions are The Chesterfield Mayfair, The Resident Covent Garden, Strand Palace Hotel, and The Tower Hotel, by Thistle. The text gives the Strand Palace a 9.0/10 from 5,132 reviews, and says The Tower Hotel is near Tower Bridge, rated 8.4/10, and around $138 a night, followed by cc637fac. For hotel groups, it names Coaching Inn Group as the top scorer at 81%, Hotel Indigo at 79%, Wetherspoons Hotels at 76% and £70 a night, Premier Inn at 73% and £94, and Travelodge at 59% and £69. The source ends with “f”.
