Storage was our only real struggle, since it was tricky to fit luggage for five, though we admit we didn’t pack light. The space itself was compact but thoughtfully designed, and the bedding was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for light cooking. The shower pressure was excellent, and there was plenty of hot water, though it didn’t last long, so shorter showers worked best. Our family of five had a delightful, memorable stay at this charming boathouse. It was a unique experience, with comfort and a touch of adventure.

We booked a canal ride with a captain and two fluffy, barking skippers to guide the way, and it was such a lovely way to spend the last few days of our trip. This was a memorial outing for a good friend, and it couldn't have felt more perfect.

We had a great family trip. Even in October, the boat felt cosy, and everything was spotless and working properly, from the kitchen to the shower. Natalie was warm and helpful, and made sure we had all the boat-specific details we needed. It was easy to manage our stay. We also added breakfast and a trip down the canal on our boat. Both were lovely, and I'd recommend them.

The beds were wonderful, and staying here was a neat experience. My only drawback was finding the place, which was hard when you don't know the area or the country.

The beds were comfortable, and the location is great for seeing Edinburgh. But calling the lodging luxury is misleading. Having to put toilet paper in a bin after urinating was uncomfortable, and we saw several hand-to-hand drug deals from the boat window. I'd describe this as camping on the water rather than luxury accommodation.
