We had a really good night's sleep in a comfortable room, beautifully decorated and with everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. It's our second stay at Pollards Inn, and we'll probably come again. A lovely little country pub, well presented, with a warm, cosy feel, great food and service, and plenty of parking. Thank you all!

We had the chicken and chorizo Linguine for lunch and really enjoyed it. The service was good and fairly quick, and there's a reasonable selection of beers and ales. I'd choose the conservatory for eating, though you can sit inside or outside. The beer garden is a pleasant spot for an afternoon, with its own bar in summer. Walking the Wirral way towards Neston from Hooton, this is the nearest pub for lunch. The original building must be a few centuries old, though the sign says it opened in 1983. It's tucked away off the main road through Willaston, with a sizeable car park if you're driving.

Our wedding ceremony was the first to take place after the venue received its licence. Cara and the staff who organised everything made sure it all went without a hitch. The room looked beautiful, the food was superb, and our guests all commented on how nice everything was. The staff were friendly and professional, and took great care of us and our guests. We'd have no hesitation recommending this venue for a big day. There is a limit to the number of guests they can cater for, though that didn't matter for us.

Pollards Inn was good value, especially since hotels in the area are generally much more expensive. It's in a good spot near the main road between Chester and Hoylake, in a lovely little village with easy, short walks to work off breakfast. There was a big car park, and we didn't hear any noise from the pub. Breakfast was good, served in the conservatory with a garden view. There was cereal, juice, tea or coffee, and a full English. The pub decor was nice, and the rooms were comfortable, if not exactly luxurious. The bed was comfortable too, and the heating was easy to adjust using the radiator thermostats. It's a good choice for a night or two. We didn't eat there apart from breakfast, though the other food looked like it might be nice. The building is old, so the floor creaked a lot. The pub seems dog-friendly, and there was a dog bed in our room even though we didn't have a dog. It felt a bit weird, and I think they could remove it for guests without dogs. The night we stayed, we couldn't get the front door key to work, but luckily someone was still on site, answered and let us in.

It's normally a very good local pub, but tonight was a bad experience. There was an upside-down broken wine glass in the car park; I reported it, but it was still there when I left. The £16 Wagyu burger was one of the worst I've tried to eat. It was like a burnt, drunken barbecue burger left over until the next day. They were very understaffed, and the barman was practically running the whole place by himself.
