The staff, especially on my first night, were so friendly and made staying in a hotel alone for work feel much less daunting. The bar was cosy when I went down on a couple of evenings, with a good range of food and drinks. A couple of dishes I wanted weren’t available, which can happen. My third choice, a salad, was tasty, but the lettuce was definitely past its best, a minor criticism. The food came quickly. I had a great stay at the Bear and wouldn’t hesitate to return if work takes me that way again.

The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the room was beautiful, clean, tidy, and had a super comfy bed. It blends the old building’s rustic look with a modern feel, and the toiletries smell divine. It felt much more luxurious than the price suggested. Esher is a great base, with the station a short taxi ride away and local amenities within walking distance on the high street. Such a lovely place to stay. I’d highly recommend it and will definitely return.

Leaha was amazing, so welcoming and friendly, and all the staff were helpful and great. From start to finish it was a lovely experience. The room was lovely and clean, and I’d definitely visit again.

The chocolate brownie comes highly recommended! I stayed at The Bear for a work event at Sandown Park Racecourse and found the food freshly cooked. The staff welcomed us from the moment we arrived. My room was spacious, had everything I needed, and had a lovely shower. The small car park was full when I got there, though there was another one just around the corner. I think our group had filled up the first one, to be honest.

A great spot for Sandown Park, about a 10-minute walk away. The food was lovely, the bar fantastic, and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room had everything I needed, including a mini bar. I’ll definitely stay again.
