We stayed in Room 1 at the Guest House and absolutely loved it. The farmhouse's age was reflected in the tasteful furnishings and decor. Kat communicated really well and gave us such a warm welcome that we both relaxed straight away. The shared bathrooms, lounge and kitchen were all spacious, well equipped and suitably sumptuous. The views are hard to describe. We brought binoculars and could hardly tear ourselves away from the window, watching a fox, cattle, pheasant and all sorts of birds. It's amazing value, and honestly, I want to go and live there! A tranquil country escape, but only a few minutes' drive from anything you need.

Elbury Lodge feels like remote countryside even though it's only a 15-minute drive from Exeter city centre. I've stayed many times and sleep like a baby each time: no light, noise or air pollution, clean rooms, comfortable beds and lovely countryside views. It has the feel of a really posh, clean student house, with a well-appointed kitchen, a lovely lounge with a wood burner and a couple of shared bathrooms. The Wi-Fi is strong enough for remote work, and the owner is a real person and a lovely one at that. The only reasons I might not stay would be if I didn't drive, since it's a fair walk to anywhere, or if I had trouble with very steep stairs.

My wife, our two children and I had a great stay in Devon in September 2021 at this clean, tidy, authentic farmhouse. The host was warm, friendly and accommodating. Booking was easy and communication was great.

The big garden and board games kept the little ones occupied, and there’s a lovely setting to relax in. It’s gorgeous, welcoming, and really quiet. Highly recommend.
