The bed was comfortable enough, but the rest of our stay was the worst hotel experience we've had. I knew the price meant it would be budget, but the place was disgusting and run-down, with dirty walls and window seal, cobwebs and spiders, and a torn blind. There wasn't a toilet in the basic room, and the toilet provided felt like one on an airplane. It seemed more like a hostel. For a budget hotel, there was no apparent effort to keep things to a decent standard of cleanliness.

Only the reception looked nice. There was no toilet in the room or kettle with tea and coffee, and the shower and toilet were along the corridor. The sink was dusty, some of the toilets were disgustingly dirty, and there was dog hair on the carpet where it had come off. The room smelled. It didn't look like a 3-star hotel at all.

There was what seemed like dog hair in the room, and it smelled quite bad. I also found food wrappers in the bed.

We couldn't stay and unfortunately got neither a refund nor any other compensation. Our room was in the furthest part of the building, with no shower in it, and looked like a box room with a camp bed and a bunk above. I have back problems and need help, so that setup left me in a lot of pain. When I asked reception for a different room, they said none were available. This isn't a good place for people with disabilities. If you have accessibility needs, Metro Inns Falkirk isn't somewhere I'd recommend.

The room and blankets were clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for one night, although it felt like a futon and the pillows were paper-thin. The carpet needed a proper vacuum. I expected more of a hotel, but it was really a hostel setup, with a private room and sink and shared bathrooms and showers. The showers were disgusting and needed more than a self-cleaning cycle. If I wanted a hostel, I'd have booked one. It was okay for a single night.
