The Trout at Tadpole Bridge

We spent three days here while visiting the Cotswolds and got a great deal at the end of January, with breakfast included. It’s a pretty pub hotel in a very quiet spot, but the beautiful villages are close by, so you get both. The pub is beside the river, with a nice outdoor area where you can sit right by the water. There’s also a huge Tipi and a stage on the grounds for special occasions and entertainment, which I imagine would be amazing in summer. It was quiet, dog friendly, and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff were friendly, with a special mention for Darren, who went above and beyond. We look forward to visiting again.

We stayed overnight and loved the rooms, with lots of nice touches, and a top-notch breakfast. For dinner I had the flat iron steak, cooked a lovely medium rare, and the only small letdown was that the watercress salad was a little limp. There’s a relaxed pub area as well as a separate dining room, with great beers and friendly, helpful staff. A lovely place to spend an evening by the river.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding at Trout at Tadpole Bridge. The riverside setting was beautiful and gave the ceremony and reception a relaxed, romantic feel. Everything was thoughtfully organised from start to finish, and the food, service and atmosphere all went beyond what we expected. Our family and friends had plenty of lovely things to say about the venue and the team. A huge thank you to Hannah and her team, especially Hannah, who took care of every detail and kept the day running smoothly. She went above and beyond and made sure we felt completely stress-free. The staff were warm, attentive and professional, and clearly cared about making the day special for us and our guests. We’ll always have wonderful memories of celebrating our wedding here, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for gorgeous scenery, great organisation and a caring team.

We celebrated my mum’s birthday here last night and sat outside in the teepee under the fairy lights. The food and vibe were amazing. We come for family meals because the service is always brilliant, and the staff go above and beyond without making anything feel like too much trouble. There’s a great choice on the menu, and you can take a short walk down to the river. Honestly, if you’ve never been, you need to go. The Trout is the best pub in the world, and it always makes our family meals and celebrations amazing. Thank you, The Trout at Tadpole Bridge!
