Moxy Glasgow Merchant City

Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice: pastries, cereals, a cooked breakfast, pancakes, tea, coffee, and fruit juices, all self-service. There’s no hotel parking, but the multistorey just behind cost only £6 for 24 hours. We left the car there from Friday until Sunday morning. We came for a weekend of shopping and visits to pubs, clubs, and restaurants, and the location worked well for all of it. The hotel met and exceeded our expectations. Our room was a nice size, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was lovely. There wasn’t much hanger space, though there was an ironing room along the hallway. We had a great time and will be back. Thanks to all the Moxy staff for looking after us.

The pub downstairs served good pizza, the menu was solid, and there was a decent choice of brews. Service was great. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the lifts need a room card, which felt more secure. There’s a fun pink-and-punk vibe, and the hotel was easy to find. The pull-up area was blocked by construction during our visit. We parked at Duke Street Parking garage, which cost £6 for 24 hours at the time. My main complaint was the climate control. It’s locked, and the instructions say to open the window if you’re too hot or cold depending on the season. The fan runs all the time, but city noise can make an open window bothersome at night.

The lobby is cozy and lovely, with games to play while relaxing. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the continental breakfast was enjoyable, with a good range of sweet options. The hotel is around a pleasant 15-minute walk from the city centre. Rooms aren’t very large, but they’re well insulated, so they stay thermally comfortable and very quiet. Highly recommended!

There isn't even a phone in the room, so I couldn't call reception about the missing basics. No hair dryer, no refrigerator, and not even a small desk to work at. The beds are very poor, the towels smell damp and musty, and the carpets are filthy. My dust allergy flared up from the carpet and I couldn't breathe. There is no parking either. You have to leave the car in the nearest car park and walk ten minutes. In one word: DISGRACEFUL.
