The view from my room in the morning was so picturesque, and breakfast was scrumptious. I’m still thinking about that ground Columbian coffee, probably the nicest I’ve ever had. Sue made me feel at home from the moment I arrived and was happy to help with anything. The room was immaculate, with lovely original details like oak beams, a really comfortable bed and a great shower. It was the loveliest hotel or B&B stay I’ve had, and I’ll come back for a weekend at the farm 😊

Sue gave us a warm welcome, and the accommodation was clean and dog-friendly. It’s a great base for walking and mountain biking, and I’d guess horse riding too, though I can’t ride. Sue’s son runs an on-site coffee shop and snack bar, popular with locals and cyclists, with a very good flat white. There are also two really good pubs in the village.

We came back to Bulmer Farm for Christmas for the second year in a row. It’s a magical place, and Sue is a lovely host. My photos are of No. 3, a beautiful self-contained flat.

We spotted the sign from the road and stopped. There were loads of cyclists, music playing, and straw bales to sit on. The menu was limited, but coffee was all we wanted. It was my first purchased coffee since lockdown, and it tasted so good. They had alternative milks too, which was a bonus.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and set me up nicely for the day. Sue was welcoming and made me feel at home, and both the room and bathroom were comfortable and lovely.
