The food was a real highlight. We stayed three nights and ate like kings each evening. Even when the place was busy, the setting still felt calm, which I especially enjoyed. What made the stay stand out, though, was how warmly everyone was welcomed. I saw even some more challenging clients treated with the utmost respect, and the staff were outstanding, always ready to help. Hurtwood Hotel far exceeded my expectations, easily a 5/5 and then some. I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves one, and I hope to return soon. Thanks to the whole team.

The area is lovely, especially if you're out hiking or mountain biking. We stayed one night, had dinner in the pub and breakfast the next morning. It's not especially fancy, but everything was clean, comfortable and lovely. The staff were particularly friendly, helpful and accommodating. We hope to stay again soon.

I’ve been coming here for years, and The HURTWOOD still feels like a home from home with a window on the world. It’s a rare local business that holds onto old-fashioned values while bringing in fresh ideas, fabulous food that reflects changing ways of life, and a lively team. The location is exceptional, and the professional, caring staff treat everyone with respect and make an effort to help. Thank you.

The autumn colours in the hills were lovely when we visited in early November, and there are beautiful walks all around. We had a terrific one-night stay at this delightful hotel in the Surrey Hills. Claire made us feel welcome and arranged an extremely comfortable, spacious room. The bar and restaurant were great, with friendly, chatty staff, and the prawn linguine was outstanding. Breakfast is cooked to order, and my eggs Benedict was perfect. We’ll definitely return. Thanks to everyone at the Hurtwood!

We liked it so much we came back three times in a short stretch. The rooms are really comfy, everyone on staff is friendly, and breakfast is so good, especially the pancakes. The general store half a minute away also has delicious cake slices. Dinner service was the one letdown for us: it felt slow even when the pub was fairly quiet, and our food was forgotten.
