The little rear terrace was a real sun trap, and the cottage had everything we needed and was clean. It's a quaint holiday home in Hastings Old Town, dating from around 1800. From here it's easy to walk up East Hill for lovely coastal and town views, take in West Hill and the Norman Castle, wander the surprisingly picturesque old town, or head down to the shingle beach. We had a great week. Be aware that the stairs are steep and very narrow, with no proper handrail, so it won't suit anyone who struggles with stairs.
