The gardens were a lovely place to wander, and everything was so peaceful and welcoming. I stayed for one night in a newly refurbished garden room with my small dog. It was beautifully done, with quality furnishings and a really comfortable feel. Everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. Lucy at the restaurant bar was especially kind and helpful, and the owner was charming and clearly proud of the hotel. I had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it for the comfort and warm welcome.

A very nice room with a great view over the gardens, in a lovely village and a fabulous spot. The bar was quiet and the staff were attentive. There’s a restaurant and bar on site; I didn’t eat there, though the restaurant looked very nice.

The service was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable. Farthings Country House Hotel in Somerset has lovely gardens and a charming restaurant, with a warm welcome throughout. The food gets plenty of praise too. A real hidden gem 🌳😋

The food was fabulous, and the chef’s talent really came through in the extensive menu. They also recommended a great wine to go with it. We had a tasty, generous breakfast the next morning. We’d found Farthings online while looking for somewhere classy with parking and good food and drinks. It’s tucked away in a small village, off the beaten track, and feels like a real hidden gem. We got a lovely welcome and a key to an airy room at the front of the house. After a few G&Ts, we sat down to order dinner. I can see why people go there just to eat. If you’re in the area and need a night or two with quality food and drink, I’d recommend Farthings. We’ll be back soon.
