The Inn Guest House

Shona was a good host, and meeting her cute dog Tazz was a highlight. The old house creaks a bit, but there was plenty of hot water, and each morning I could choose a little continental or cooked breakfast. Laundry service was available for $10 a load, which helped a lot. I enjoyed spending three nights here while exploring the islands.

We arrived late after booking four nights, and the owner and her husband still welcomed us with a great attitude. Shona showed us to our clean room, which had everything we needed, and arranged a breakfast time that suited us. In the morning, breakfast was served on hot plates in a very clean dining room, and it was great. The friendly people and service made our Orkney stay excellent. I couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great Orkney experience.

We paid £200 for two people in a double room for two nights at the end of August. Room 5 had lovely views, and Shona, Mike and their dog were welcoming hosts. The room was clean and well catered, and breakfast was friendly and generous. 10/10, no complaints.

The room was tidy and comfortable in every other respect, though one of the windows in my assigned room wouldn't close completely. Shona was a wonderful host, which meant a great deal, and breakfast was tasty and filling.
