The Kings Head

The rooms were lovely, nicely decorated and amazingly spacious. The showers get properly hot if that’s what you like, and there were fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Everyone was brilliant, welcoming and generous. It’s a fantastic place right in the centre of Holt, a lovely town, and breakfast at Byfords was great too. Thanks for having us, it was a pleasure. I’d heartily recommend staying here.

Room 1 was spotless and huge, with its own kitchen. It’s really more like a large suite or apartment. The pub is nice and much bigger than it looks, with a massive restaurant at the back. There’s high street parking and a turning opposite. Bear in mind it is a pub, so there are customers downstairs until 10.30pm, but the amazing rooms and wonderfully friendly, helpful, happy staff make up for some noise. I’m an older woman travelling alone, and all the staff were outgoing, polite and friendly. They clearly take pride in their work. I’d booked somewhere else, but it was pretty awful when I arrived, so I was desperately calling around for somewhere to stay. Kylie at the Kings Head was understanding and helpful, and went above and beyond to accommodate me. I was pleased to stay there. I had a great stay, and Holt is a wonderful town.

We came with the family for a bite to eat on Shrove Tuesday evening. I expected they might have pancakes on the menu, but they didn’t. The food we ordered was pretty good, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The pint I had was delicious 😊

We spent three nights in Holt, and this was easily our best evening. The pub was really well run, with a cosy atmosphere and great service. We’ll definitely be back!
