For a two-star hotel, the room was warm, comfortable and clean, and I’d stay again next year. I’ll just plan my meals better. There are no hot meals, and the Burger King next door is open from 11 to 8, so there’s no hot breakfast option. Honestly, it’s not the best Burger King either. One thing to know is that homeless people stay here. They’re people from the UK, not immigrants, mainly, I think, those leaving broken relationships while they wait to be rehoused. They were all friendly and spent most of their time sitting outside chatting with each other.

I first stayed here for my birthday in February, then came back for another week. The room was very clean, and the staff were lovely, always saying good morning and good night. It’s handy if you drive, as it’s not far from everything or from different places. The team were so welcoming that I’ll definitely stay again soon.

There weren’t any USB or USB-C ports in the room, and no sockets beside the bed. It doesn’t feel quite ready for 2025. Each section of the corridor had its own particular smell, and some rooms didn’t have bonnets. There’s a bench outside for smoking. The location was dire. There’s a Burger King next door, but it wasn’t open late, and maybe not even early in the morning.

The receptionist was polite and friendly, and there was plenty of parking. It’s a bit remote, but having a Burger King next door worked out fine for food. Good value for money.
