There’s a path from Dunscar farm to Castleton, so it’s easy to walk into the village for dinner and a look around. We had a great stay at this lovely, peaceful, family-run b&b surrounded by the Peaks. Gary was helpful with walking routes and made us a good breakfast. We’d be happy to come back someday!

The rooms are spacious and lovely, with thoughtful little touches, and the bed was so comfortable. The views were gorgeous too 😍 Breakfast was filling and great quality. Gary was an excellent host and a lovely guy. We didn’t meet Janet, but imagine she’s just as lovely. Would definitely recommend, and would return!

We could start hikes right from the farm, and the town was only a 10-minute walk away. A local farmer welcomed us warmly and clearly loves the area and his work. Our clean, tidy room had tea and coffee, and breakfast was nice, with good coffee, fresh fruit and a full English. We were also allowed to clean our bikes and leave some bottles in the fridge. Highly recommend!

A great place if you’re planning the Mam Tor circular hike, with lots of trek starting points nearby. Breakfast is complimentary, and we had a great time here.

Castleton is an easy walk across the fields for an evening meal, and the location is ideal for exploring the beautiful scenery nearby. Our room was nicely decorated and felt homely. Breakfast was tasty, beautifully prepared and presented. Gary and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. A fabulous place to stay, highly recommended.
