Hunton Park Hotel

The gardens were beautiful, especially the fountain, and I took loads of photos. The hotel’s an easy walk from the train station, and the bar had a good choice of food and drinks. The bar staff were lovely too. Our room was quiet, tucked away from the main hotel areas, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfy, and although I’d read comments about the rooms being small, I was really pleased with ours. Everyone was friendly and helpful when we arrived. I stayed for a week around my birthday while we went into London, and they’d left me a brownie with “happy birthday” written in chocolate sauce on the plate. Such a sweet extra.

The hotel could use a refurbishment, and I can’t speak to the rooms, but our private event went really well. The event was held in the Manor House, I believe. Amy handled the enquiry and booking with real care: she was professional, helpful, and friendly, and made sure she’d covered everything before the day. I’d seen some negative comments about the food, so I was glad Amy reassured me. Our guests were blown away by it. The sweet potato and coconut soup, Thai fish cake, and ham hock terrine starters were exquisite. I’m trying to find another event to book just so I can have them again. The mains and desserts were delicious too, and the service on the day was very good. Thanks to Amy and the Hunton park team for a lovely christening celebration.

The whole wedding day felt joyful and easy, and Hunton Park gave us just the right mix of elegance and warmth. Our ceremony space looked lovely, the reception room was set up well for dinner and dancing, and the food was delicious. Lots of guests mentioned how good it was. The staff were attentive and friendly, and took great care of everyone. The team supported us all through the planning, answered every little question, and kept the day running smoothly. We could relax because we knew we were in good hands, and nothing felt rushed. Thanks especially to the owners Mr Vinod and Neel Khanna and SJ, who stayed by our side and guided us throughout. We fell for Hunton Park on our first visit. The manor house, grounds, and quiet countryside made a romantic setting, and on the day the long drive, photo backdrop, and outdoor spaces all looked beautiful. We’ll treasure the memories and would gladly recommend it to couples looking for a special wedding venue.

The superior double was really nice, and so was the bathroom. I liked the heated mirror and the full bottles of shower gel and other toiletries. Breakfast was pretty good too, especially the sausages and hash browns, which weren’t greasy. The restaurant menu was small and the food fairly basic, but Roxi looked after us well. Our room had several problems: the TV, phone, bathroom fan, and shaving mirror light didn’t work, and the WiFi didn’t seem to reach us. They offered another room and gave us drinks vouchers, but that was at 10pm, after we’d unpacked and were getting ready for bed. There were also some worn areas around the building that need attention. Still, it’s a really nice place otherwise. The nearby natural history museum is free and has loads to see.
