Aberfeldy Lodge Guest House

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and it’s an easy walk into town. We’d booked when breakfast was included, but the Lodge changed its policy because it was concerned about having enough space for social distancing. They sorted it out by providing breakfast on the following days for guests who had booked before the change. The host also made us a great lunch on our last day to make up for the first-day confusion. I’d highly recommend staying here while exploring the Highlands.

I stayed from 28th to 31st of August and it suited me perfectly. The BB was friendly and clean, and it was just a 20-minute walk from the high street and bus station. My room had two single beds, a lovely view, and a great en suite. I can’t say anything about breakfast since I didn’t have any. It’s ideal if you just want somewhere to leave your bags and go explore the area.

After five days travelling through the Highlands, I was really looking forward to a hot shower when I got to this clean guest house in a good location. The hot water heater wasn’t working, though, and I couldn’t get a reply from the owner after messaging and emailing. The messages were only answered once some other guests had checked out. I was offered another room or the chance to shower in a different room, and I chose the latter. It took three nights before I could shower. At least it was cold and I hadn’t been sweating much. That’s why I’m giving it three stars.

Aberfeldy Lodge is a comfortable, convenient place to stay. It’s a nice home on a quiet street, within walking distance of Inverness city centre. The rooms were clean, the staff were kind, and breakfast was delicious and generous.
