The shared kitchen was handy for storing or reheating food, and the room felt comfortable and homely. The staff were accommodating, the beds were comfortable, and the noise level seemed completely normal. I saw people say they couldn’t reach the staff, but the number is posted online and when I called at 8pm they answered within three rings. There’s also a taxi service right next door, which was very convenient. Thanks, Julie, you made our stay even better. I’d happily stay here again in Inverness.
The city centre location made it easy to get around, and the self check-in was convenient. My room was clean and nice, and the stay was great value.
My friend and I checked in on 13th october 2025. The room used self check-in, and there were no lifts to help us carry our luggage upstairs. The only real problem was the heater. The room kept getting colder through the evening, so I called the woman at the contact number to ask her to turn it on. She kept saying it would come on shortly and wasted our time until 5. After that, when I contacted her again, she said her team had finished for the day and the heater would be dealt with tomorrow. We spent the whole night tossing around, trying to cope with the cold. At one point she stopped answering calls. There was also a small child crying and speaking in the background, which made it hard to hear her. Apart from the heater issue, it was okay.
We arrived in Inverness and couldn’t get into the property because we hadn’t received the promised check-in and entry details, which were supposed to arrive by email 24 hours before arrival. We called, texted, and emailed Jacobite house, but got no reply. After waiting on the street with our luggage for over an hour, we had to find emergency accommodation at the last minute. A reply finally came by email at 9pm, six hours later, with no call and no apology. The communication was terrible, and we never accessed the property.
This was meant to be a relaxing stop on our honeymoon, but the bed had two big holes and we both woke with back pain. Staff offered to move us without letting us check the other bed first, so we left after one night. We got a refund for the second night only. Management wouldn’t compensate us for that awful first night or the stress of rearranging our travel at the last minute. There was dust and dirt, bird droppings on the window, a broken socket, poor Wi-Fi, and loud noise from nearby pubs late into the night. We had a terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend this place.
