After hiking all day and getting muddy, the washer and dryer were a lifesaver. The lodge is small, but it feels airy and spacious, and also has a luxurious feel. It's super clean, everything seems brand new and high quality, down to the light switches and bath fixtures. The owner has thought of (almost) everything. We loved staying here and were sorry to leave. The one awkward thing was the hair dryer: it wouldn't plug into the bathroom outlet, so drying my hair was a challenge. Apart from that, the owner has achieved air b&b perfection!

We really enjoyed our stay at the recently completed Lorien Lodge,Breakish,Skye. It has been finished to a very high standard, and there are great views across the landscape and Broadrord Bay.

The welcome pack was so thoughtful: red wine, milk, butter, toast, eggs and jam meant we had the essentials right away. Everything else we might need was there too, from dish soap and laundry detergent to books, games, coffee and tea. The house was spacious, beautifully furnished and quiet, with a helpful folder of appliance information and restaurant suggestions. The supermarket is under ten minutes away by car, and there's a highly recommended restaurant right by the driveway. We felt very comfortable and would have liked to stay longer. For me, though, the bed was a bit narrow, and the single mattress and shared blanket weren't ideal since my husband is a restless sleeper. Luckily, there was a second bedroom. I also would have appreciated instructions on separating waste in England, as we weren't sure and didn't want to get it wrong.

Lorien Lodge is a real gem on the Isle of Skye, easy to get to and well equipped. We found it intimate and welcoming, with a touch of luxury that made it a lovely place to unwind. It's well placed for exploring the whole island, and close to shops and a petrol station. The McLeod family welcomed us warmly. We'd gladly come back.
