I was here for work and came back after a 12-hour shift to find food available, which was a treat. I didn’t have to head out again. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to go the extra mile. My room was clean and large, with a comfortable bed and no noise. The location is central, and parking was very reasonable: I stayed more than 48 hours and paid just £8.

The room itself was clean and the service was fine, but the cleanliness let the stay down. There was someone’s pubic hair in the shower, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Back in the room, my partner found dirty cups when they wanted coffee, and the sideboard hadn’t been wiped down well. At breakfast, the bowls had dried-on dirt and some cups were stained.

The room temperature was easy to adjust, and the hotel was completely quiet. The staff were all very friendly and breakfast was really good. I especially appreciated the Alpro products and free-range eggs. That should be standard these days, but sadly it isn’t.

The only snag was a communication mix-up about the coach. When we booked, we were told it could definitely park onsite, but the hotel car park couldn’t actually fit a large vehicle. We had to take our chances in the outdoor loading bay. Everything else made for a great weekend, an 8/10 stay. Jacob checked us in smoothly, was lovely, and helped sort out a parking issue. The room was clean, comfortable and the right temperature, and the shower pressure was actually good, which we often struggle with. Breakfast can be tricky for our large group, but Jess kept every item topped up without missing a beat. She was in and out of the kitchen, feeding all 50 of us on her own. I made sure to get her name for this review. Thank you, Jess, you’re a real credit to the organisation, and I hope the regional managers look after you. Thanks to you too, Jacob. I look forward to seeing you again soon!

We spent Saturday night here. It’s close to the town centre, and our room was spacious and clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Parking cost £4 for 24 hours. We didn’t eat breakfast.
