Anne makes you feel like family, and the thoughtful touches made this historic B&B feel like home. It's tucked beside a classic Lake District hill or mountain, with a small village very close by. Kendal has plenty of places to eat and shops, and there's a bus stop just a three-minute walk away, so it worked perfectly as a base for exploring the Lake District. Thanks, Anne!

Anne was so accommodating and lovely, and the breakfast she served was fantastic. The house itself was comfy, lovely and spotlessly clean. We had a proper getaway here, and I'd highly recommend it for exploring the southern Lake District. I gave the location four stars only because Stavely has limited lunch and dinner options, though Anne recommended a nice pub where we had a good meal.

We spent three days at Li'le Hullets during a cycling break, and had a really enjoyable stay. Anne ( with an e) couldn't have been more accommodating. Her lovely, quirky house is full of interesting collections and features from a bygone age. The facilities are as good as those at leading B&Bs, but cost a fraction of the price. Breakfast had plenty of variety, and the cooked food was delicious. Thanks so much, Anne. Ray.

Anne made me feel completely at home from the moment I arrived and throughout my visit. She took time to chat, checked I had what I needed and pointed me toward some great dinner spots. If you're looking for a guest house in this area, give Anne a call. I know I'll do that next time. Thank you, Anne.

Ann is a lovely, friendly owner who pays great attention to detail. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the clean sheets were crisp and ironed. I had one of the nicest full English breakfasts I've ever had. It's a quirky old cottage, with oak beams and lots of old wood doors, cupboards and panels. There are three rooms, two en suite, with double and twin rooms, and I wasn't sure about the attic room. A short walk farther into Staveley takes you to Hawkshead brewery; there's also the Eagle and Child pub in the village and some great walks nearby. Well worth a night or two.
