There’s a big dining room for families, so it’s not just a place for couples. The homemade food was cooked fresh and tasted great, and felt well worth the money. My husband and I went back to the little gem we’d found and hardly recognised it. The decor is fabulous now, and Kelly and Paul made us feel right at home. We’d definitely recommend it.

The Sunday carvery was fantastic, and the rooms were lovely and clean with everything we needed. From the moment you walk in, the scented candles give off a lovely aroma and make the place feel relaxing. Such a good find, and only 6 miles from Manchester airport.

It’s been a year since we stayed with Kelly and Paul at the Windmill, but we still talk about how much we enjoyed it. Paddy especially remembers his serving of rhubarb crumble! Lovely room, great food and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.

A great little place just off the Chester Road (A556 M6 J19), and much better than stopping at the motorway services. New management and the redecoration of the bar, rooms and conservatory have made a real difference. What was a run-down boozer is now a destination pub with great food and a proper northern welcome.

We stopped for lunch and the food was fantastic. There was a good deal on, 2 main meals for £15, and the staff were really friendly. The pub has been beautifully decorated while keeping lots of its original features. Drinks were my only gripe, at around £11 for a pint and a glass of prosecco, they were really expensive.
