Knotts Farm Holiday Cottages

There were mice and droppings in the property, and the chairs were stained and dirty. We stayed just one night because we didn’t feel comfortable or relaxed. After going out, we came back to find a mouse soaked in the sink. We also saw one run around the sofa and go behind the bathroom skirting board. New droppings appeared on the work surface and bedding each time we returned. The owner didn’t offer any reimbursement. Instead, they mocked us and called the mice “timid … like pets,” even after we raised the health issue. Don’t stay here unless you’re comfortable living among rodents and their droppings.

The cottage was really comfy and had everything we needed. Andrew made us feel welcome, and the dogs loved walking across the two fields to look out over Morecambe Bay. Great location, and we’d definitely recommend it. Hope to come back.

We stayed for a family birthday, and the quiet location was great value. The cottages are on a working farm, which could be a plus or a minus depending on what you like. The place was clean and tidy, though the decor felt a little dated and could do with a refresh.

Slept like a log and really enjoyed staying here. The owners are busy farmers, but still take time to welcome you and are very friendly. You really need a car, though Lancaster is only five minutes away by car.
