The Stable, Sedbury Park Farm

The Byre was a beautiful barn conversion for our party of four, with huge bedrooms, two big bathrooms and lots of living space. The open-plan area had everything we needed, and the wood burner made the lounge especially cosy at night. William was a wonderful host and nothing seemed too much trouble. The views are spectacular, with lovely walks nearby. Richmond town centre is pretty and only two miles away, and the main roads make it easy to get around. We also loved the two ponies, who are keen on carrots, and the lovely family of barn cats and kittens, who like a bit of ham. We came for four days and Sedbury Park Farm has captured our hearts. We'll be back in spring, perhaps when the sheep next door have lambs.

The Cart Shed was first-class and cosy. I'll definitely try to stay here again on my next trip to Yorkshire.

Back for our second visit to this idyllic spot in North Yorkshire. The owners, William and Anne, make you feel so welcome, and that hospitality is the icing on the cake. The updated barn accommodation is well equipped, and you get to know the characterful farm animals by name. Richmond is just 10 minutes away, making it a handy base for day trips in any direction.

The property was clean and well equipped, and the complimentary wine and cake were a nice touch. It's in a quiet rural setting, though being on a farm means you should expect a few more flies than usual. Fly spray would be useful. The two showers could also use soap dishes, especially the cubicle shower. Would we return? Yes.
