I was working away for the week and found this place at a great price. The reviews looked good, so I booked, and I'm glad I did. It was clean, tidy and spacious, with lovely decor and a great bathroom. There was also an information folder. Being right on the sea front meant beautiful views first thing, and I could walk to a couple of fish and chip shops and a bar/restaurant. A lovely stay for an even better price. Thank you, Nicole.

The room's decor and balcony were truly beautiful, and it was laid out like a home away from home. That's why it's sad to leave such a disappointing review. I booked one night by the beach, about 300 yards away, because I needed a rest while caring for someone very unwell. Instead, I got only four hours of sleep. There were slamming doors, noise and heavy footsteps, along with an extremely loud humming refrigerator. I know fridges make noise, but this one was unreasonably loud, and I'm not especially sensitive to sound. I planned to walk on the beach at 6 am before checking out at 10, or perhaps at 12 with a late checkout, but I was too exhausted. The lack of sleep affected everything I had planned for checkout day and defeated the point of booking. I raised the problem as soon as I woke up. I was told the owners or managers lived in the building and hadn't heard anything, that no one else had either, and that I should have reported it at the time. I wasn't believed or given the benefit of the doubt, and there was no apology, just a dispute over whether it had happened. I was told I should have raised it between 2 and 4 am. I finally fell asleep at 4, and with my background and experience I'd never dream of waking someone at that hour to report something. I did tell them at the first opportunity, as soon as I was awake. I understand owners can't always control noise, since things happen, whether or not they live in the building. What I found wrong was how the complaint was handled. Marina and Nicole had been very helpful and their communication was fantastic until I told them about the noise. I have nothing against them personally and am sure they're lovely, but after many years in customer service, running my own companies and managing banks, I don't think it's acceptable to doubt what a client reports, fail to acknowledge it, or blame them for when they raised it. The whole response was handled poorly. It's especially sad to write this after first walking into the room and thinking they should be proud of how beautiful it was. Sarah Crawley

I've stayed here four times for work and wouldn't choose anywhere else when visiting. It has a real home from home feel, a very comfy bed and lots of thoughtful little touches.

I was in room 6, a huge, comfortable room with a lovely balcony overlooking a sweet little pond. The beachfront boutique hotel is super, very clean, and has nice extras like biscuits and crisps, plus a much appreciated fridge. The bed was soft but comfortable. Service stayed unobtrusive, and there was a mobile number to use if anything came up. Breakfast wasn't included in my rate, which was fine, though I think you'd need to book it ahead if you wanted it. Plenty of places to get breakfast are within walking distance. I'd love to come back for a holiday rather than work.

The owners had put in thoughtful touches that made the place feel homely, and it was very clean and nicely presented. A larger room and private car park would have improved the stay. I'd come back.
