For Students Only Hope St near Liverpool Central Station

Five stars for the apartment staff. They’re friendly and really helpful. When some equipment in the room broke, they looked into it quickly and replaced it with a new one. :)

I went to see a friend on Halloween, but at 10:46 the receptionist wouldn’t let me in, not even to wait in reception. I was told to stay outside, which felt very unwelcoming. The staff came across as rude and unfriendly, and the whole visit was disappointing. I hope Abodus Student Living - Hope Street Apartments treats visitors with more hospitality.

I loved living here. My room was one of the smaller ones, but it was built to make good use of the space. The location was ideal, near the university, Hope Street, Bold Street, student pubs and transport. I first found the place because it’s the accommodation closest to 92 degrees cafe. There’s also a cinema room you can book for four hours. The reception team were 10/10, and I’ve got loads of good things to say about the place. My one gripe is the inspections: they give you a week’s notice but not the exact day. I understand the team has lots of rooms to check, though I’d prefer a set date. Still, no other downsides for me. :)

I brought friends into the common room and stepped away for about two minutes to get drinks. I’d greeted the administrator before I left, but when I came back, my friends had all been made to leave. It was pouring with rain, and when one of them politely asked to wait in reception, they were refused. That sort of inflexible treatment feels completely at odds with the welcoming atmosphere this place claims to offer, especially to international students. Others have raised similar complaints, too. The previous administration team didn’t treat students this way, and I wish the current staff would rethink their approach. Rules need some empathy and common sense; enforcing them like this just alienates and inconveniences people. I found the staff discourteous and unwilling to be flexible, despite the place presenting itself as inclusive. I don’t plan to come back, and based on my own experience, I’d urge anyone thinking of living here to consider carefully whether it will meet their expectations. The lack of empathy and professionalism has made it feel far from welcoming.
