I went on 29 November for my sister’s evening wedding do, even though the wedding itself had been back in August. The building looks stunning from outside. If the weather had been better, I’d happily have stayed outside admiring it all night. Inside, the party was well organised, with plenty of buffet food and a free bar. Once people got onto the dance floor, inhibitions definitely came down!

The place was clean and tidy, but the staff weren’t very good on the tills. The price changed each round. Even during happy hour, the first two pints of lager came to just under £14.

We held our evening reception here on 21 June 2025, and everyone said they’d had a great time. The food was lovely, and the bar staff were very nice. We had the downstairs room, which I’d recommend if you want somewhere guests can sit and chat away from the DJ. It’s a nice space with big windows and a separate area for the buffet. 10/10. We stayed overnight too. The rooms are a little old fashioned, but they were clean, and anything more modern would have felt out of place.

We had our wedding here and it was fantastic. Sue was amazing in the lead-up, and the waitress, Beth, was wonderful on the day. They were so accommodating and made sure we had the perfect day. I couldn’t recommend them more!

It’s a lovely quirky old building, and our room was comfortable and clean, with a great roll top bath. Some of the furniture was a bit tatty, though, and the room could do with a little TLC. The staff were lovely. If the price were right, I’d choose this over a chain every time.
