The location worked well for the bus stop and football stadium, and the price was good. Everything else was bad. We arrived to find the address was completely different, then spent another 30 minutes looking for the accommodation using the photos. Staff communication was poor: they hadn’t sent the key code, didn’t answer calls or messages, and we were left outside getting wet. We were given the wrong room, which already had someone in it, and then moved to another one. There was mold in the room and no hot water in the bathroom. Communication was 0%. I wouldn’t stay again and don’t recommend it.

We were in a perfect spot for the stadium tour the next day, right across the road. Before we arrived, Dean helped make things smooth by texting the check-in instructions a few hours ahead, which was a relief after several hours of travel. He made sure we had everything we needed and really helped make our overnight stay the best it could be.

We couldn’t face staying a second night and left after the first, both disgusted by the condition of the place and worried about leaving our car in the drab car park on a Friday night. The photos were deceptive: it was old, falling apart, and smelly. There was garbage and broken glass in the car park. Inside, the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned: hairs and food stains on the sheets and pillows, sand on the sofa cushions. We didn’t want to touch the bedding, so we slept on top of the blankets in our day clothes and used our jackets over the pillows. We messaged the owner asking for a cleaner room and got no reply. This is a genuine review, avoid this place!

Breakfast felt relaxed, with no set time to sit at a table, which made it feel like home. The room was spotless and warm, and having the replica trophy there was a fun bonus. Dean even made sure we got a photo opportunity, thank you! Buses into the city centre stop nearby, and the football stadium is only a 30-second walk away, so it couldn’t have been closer. Dean made us feel welcome. Thanks again, we’ll definitely see you next time.
