Terlon Apartments

Abdul at reception was so friendly and willing to help with any questions. His warm manner and excellent service really made a difference to our stay. Terlon Apartments was clean and tidy, and its central Liverpool location made a handy base for exploring the city. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a well-kept apartment with a welcoming reception team.

The kitchen had very few utensils despite being a full kitchen. There was no tea towel, spatula or plug for the sink, and some cupboard doors were hanging down. We also found poo in the toilet when we arrived, and the doona cover was ripped. The walls were quite dirty and need a good paint. The rooms looked nothing like the advert. They were run down and didn’t look clean. Ours backed onto Mathew street, where the noise went on until all hours of the morning, so it’s a poor choice unless you plan to stay out all night. It definitely wasn’t worth what we paid.

Check-in was easy, and the lady at reception pointed us to cheap multi-storey parking for £13 per 24 hours. We’ll definitely come back. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable, with a nice view over the Main Street. The area stayed lively until very late, but the double glazing kept out most of the noise. It’s a perfect spot for shopping and eating. The kitchen utensils were sparse, though we managed; next time we’ll bring a tea towel, cleaning cloth and spray.

We slept fine despite being right on a busy street, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The city-centre location suited us, and we thought it was good value since the budget facilities were reflected in the price. Having a kitchen in the room was the main bonus, especially for getting breakfast in the morning. It wasn’t set up for cooking, but we hadn’t planned to cook anyway. The one issue was that they wouldn’t give us two keys. I haven’t run into that at other hotels, and it meant planning ahead if we weren’t going to do the same thing, since we had to leave the key at reception, which isn’t always open.
