The Castle Collection - 14 Cook Street

I left immediately and am now trying to sort things out through booking.com. There was black mould on the towels at another one of their properties on Castle street. We’d already stayed one night, and I asked to check out early without being charged for the rest of my stay. They offered replacement towels, but said they’d still charge me the full amount with no refund if I left. I explained that black mould is a contaminant and that fresh towels wouldn’t remove the bacteria it gives off. They said someone would come in 20 minutes. An hour later, someone arrived with new towels, handed them over, and barely said a word before leaving. When I called again, they said they’d given me new towels and that was all they would do. They would keep my money if I left. Absolutely appalling. Never stay here.

We’ve been to “The Castle Collection” a couple of times now, and the building is lovely inside. The rooms are clean and spacious, with big comfortable beds and everything you need for your stay. I’d definitely recommend 14Cook Street - The Castle Collection.

The apartments are large, with one or two bedrooms, and the beds and bedding were comfortable. Tall 12 ft ceilings and huge windows bring in lots of natural light, which adds to the decor. Each place has a full kitchen, sitting room and dining table, plus a microwave, convection oven, stovetop and laundry facilities. The central Liverpool location puts you near the docks on the Mersey river, and Matthew St, home to the famous Cavern Club, is a 10 minute walk away. For all that space and equipment, the price is better than most hotel rooms. The Castle Collection has several properties, and if you’re visiting Liverpool, this is absolutely the place to stay!

We were on the top floor and the loft was out of order, so it meant quite a climb up several flights of stairs. Still, the noise was tolerable at night for somewhere right in central Liverpool, even for a light sleeper like me. The apartment was a great fit for a small family getaway with my husband, our two older children and me. It had everything we needed to cook for ourselves, including washing-up liquid and tea towels. We’ve already recommended it to friends and will definitely book again.
