The Royal Hotel

We only had lunch at the bar yesterday, three friends together, and didn't stay at the hotel. The food was much better than a usual pub lunch, well cooked and nicely presented. It was busier than we expected for a Monday. The manager worked hard and gave great service alongside the young staff, who were both very pleasant. Thank you for a better than usual lunch.

We're here every week for food and a drink, and there's a good range of both, with generous portions at reasonable prices. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The Royal is a lovely, well-run hotel, with nice rooms and very comfortable beds. It's close to the Marina and some lovely walks, especially in the warmer months.

For our family celebration, the room was clean and comfortable, set up well for our group, with audio and slideshow options and crisp white linen on the tables. The buffet for nearly 50 people was delicious. Head Chef Matt deserves special praise, and Liz and Rachael kept the service running brilliantly, making sure everyone had what they needed. Geoff, Becky, James and the whole management team were professional and helpful throughout. Thank you for making it such a special occasion. We chose this historic hotel again for the celebration because its service and atmosphere have been consistently lovely. It's near the sea and parks, well placed for sightseeing in Liverpool, and parking is available.

The hotel is in a quiet area, around 25 minutes from the town centre. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, so we slept wonderfully. Breakfast was amazing, and the staff were kind and gave great service. It was a lovely stay, and I'd definitely come back.
