The hotel is right by the train station, so it was extremely noisy. There was nobody there to sort things out, and we’re still waiting for our refund. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this property. We chose it for the reasonable price and location near Wembley, but it became one of our worst stays. We didn’t feel safe from the start. We spent about 15 minutes trying to get into our room, then called the contact number. When someone finally opened the door, we were told our room had been double-booked. They showed us another room that looked nothing like the online photos. As I was about to shower, I saw how filthy it was. The cleanliness was unacceptable. When I called to complain, they just asked if I wanted a cleaner. We’d lost all confidence and wanted to leave. While we were changing and talking to Booking.com, two young women walked into our room unexpectedly. The owners had access to all the locks and had apparently assigned the same room to them as well. They were rushing to a concert and genuinely thought they were supposed to share with us, since the room had a double bed and bunk beds. That was the last straw. We left right away and had to find somewhere else within 30 minutes, before our dinner reservation. The whole stay was disorganised, unhygienic and worrying from a safety point of view.
The beds were so uncomfortable, with just one very thin pillow, and the street noise was awful. Cars and trains going past made the beds shake through the night, so we barely slept. The room itself was clean but looked sad, with peeling paint, cracks and broken tables. The door handle came off and was really hard to lock. We stayed one night on a budget to be near Wembley and wished we’d spent a bit more. Check-in was a mess: we were told the kebab shop next door was reception. The lovely lady there tried her best, but didn’t seem to know how to help. After calling the hotel number, we were guided to the room. I’d tell people to pay extra for somewhere nicer, especially after seeing comments about people being paid to leave five-star reviews.
The station is close, but the room was dirty. There was a broken mirror frame, stray hairs on the bed, a loose toilet seat, and the supposedly fresh towels smelled far from fresh. Several dead flies were on the windowsill, an unadvertised complimentary breakfast, I guess. The whole building stank of weed, and the smell got stronger overnight. We never saw a staff member. Avoid. I want my money back, but OYO hasn’t responded to my feedback so far.
The noise made sleep impossible: the hotel is above a nightclub, with traffic from the main road as well. Getting in was difficult too. You have to climb 15 stairs to the entrance with your suitcase, and that wasn’t mentioned in the advert. The room smelled foul and was unhygienic. There were bed bugs that left marks on my skin, and the old bed covers were visibly dirty. They provided only one old, thin towel, which felt like drying myself with paper. The place looked more like a brothel than a legitimate hotel. When I called to complain, the person on the phone was rude and refused a refund. The on-site coffee shop didn’t seem sanitary or safe to eat at. This felt like a dodgy business. It’s unsafe, unhygienic, overpriced and not suitable for anyone looking for rest, safety or comfort. Avoid at all costs.
The location was okay, but the noisy neighborhood and the place itself made the stay disappointing. We never saw staff during our stay. When we got there around 9 p.m., nobody was there and we hadn’t been sent an access code. Our phones didn’t work in the UK, so we couldn’t call the hotel, but luckily a kind traveler helped us get in touch. The bathroom smelled terrible, and we had to keep its door shut.
